Amick Brown awarded a Contract with the City of San Diego to provide SAP Consulting Services

Amick Brown has been awarded a 5-year contract with the City of San Diego to provide SAP Consulting Services.  This contract follows the prior contract awarded to Amick Brown in 2015.  We are so proud to be able to assist the City with their SAP  program and look forward to a continued successful partnership through 2025.

For the 8th year in a row, Amick Brown has made the San Francisco Business Times Top 100 Largest Woman-Owned Businesses in the San Francisco Bay Area list.  This list includes 51% or more women-owned businesses in Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco and San Mateo and is ranked by 2019 revenue.  We moved up by 14 this year landing at #63.  We are dedicated to our stakeholders, work very hard and are extremely proud of our growth and continued stability, especially during 2020!

As the Human Resource Manager at Amick Brown, Jenna is responsible for managing all HR programs and functions. She handles onboarding, payroll, benefits, employee relations and much more. She works close with our employees to ensure we are meeting their needs and provides support where necessary. Jenna has been on the Amick Brown team for almost seven years and truly enjoys her role as our Human Resource Manager.

Prior to joining Amick Brown, Jenna attended Chico State where she received her Bachelors Degree in Business Administration with a minor in Project Management and an emphasis in Human Resource Management. This is where her passion for human resources blossomed and what made her want to pursue it as a career. She became a SHRM Certified Professional in 2015 and continues to learn and grow as a HR professional.

Jenna just recently became a mother and with her husband, welcomed their daughter into the world. She loves spending time with her family and watching her daughter grow and change every day. She also likes to get outside, ski in the winter, hike in the summer, visit wineries in her hometown and try new restaurants!

As a Partner and Principal Consultant at Amick Brown, Arun is responsible for business development, maintaining trusted relationships with customers and providing solutions and direction. Arun served as a Solution Architect at AT&T and then Accenture with a focus on SAP ERP, Data Analytics and Technology Architecture. Arun joined Amick Brown to lead its first ever project and has since then worked with our partner companies helping to win and execute work for Amick Brown. Arun, along with the other Amick Brown partners, has been successfully working on the expansion of Amick Brown’s business into the public sector and the Cloud domain. He is also responsible for establishing and overseeing Amick Brown’s subsidiary, Amick Brown India.

Arun has all-around experience in the IT industry across functional and technical domains throughout his 24-year career. He has experience in functional areas such as Finance, Supply Chain, Human Resources and Real Estate providing support in Architecture, Strategy, Vendor Selection and ERP and Analytics Solutions. He has performed various roles covering the entire software development lifecycle and numerous technologies from the development and management of complex technology landscapes to the nitty gritty troubleshooting of technical issues.

Arun has been an avid hiker since his college days and continues even now with many hiking and backpacking trips. In 2019 he has done several hikes in the California Sierras including the feat of climbing Mount Whitney in one day. He has a keen interest in history, economics and the financial markets. He also likes to spend time on sports, cooking, winemaking and music. He is a hobby guitarist and enjoys playing rock, blues and jam music.

Arun lives in San Ramon, California, with his wife of 18 years and two children who are also budding musicians.

SPOTLIGHT – Sameer Gandhi, Managing Partner

As one of the Managing Partners of Amick Brown, Sameer delivers tangible business value to Amick Brown’s clients by working closely with customers and partners to maximize client’s investment in Enterprise systems, lowering TCO and cultivating mutually beneficial bi-directional relationships. For the past 29 years, Sameer has performed various roles in consulting companies as well as large IT organizations managing large onsite and offshore teams and building highly scalable data analytics solutions.  Sameer provides strategic services such as Analytics Assessment, Readiness, Technology Selection, Development of short term and long-term roadmap for Amick Brown customers.

Sameer is also involved in coaching and leadership support for youth in the community through the Boy Scouts of America and the national honor society called Order of the Arrow. He spent a few years as a Scoutmaster of a large troop, Troop 888 in San Ramon, CA. As a mentor for the scouts working on the rank of Eagle, the highest rank of the Boy Scouts, Sameer mentors and provides opportunities for young scouts to become responsible, participating citizens and leaders.

One of Sameer’s passions is long-distance running. In the past 6 years, Sameer has successfully completed numerous local as well as international marathons. The Big Sur International Marathon and the Mumbai Marathon are his favorite marathon events. Sameer enjoys spending time outdoors. He and his friends recently climbed Mt. Whitney, the highest mountain in the lower 48 states with a height of 14,508 ft.

Sameer lives in San Ramon, CA with his wife of 23 years. He has a son who is currently in college working on his undergraduate studies.

Anitha is an Amick Brown Co-Founder and Managing Partner. She is responsible for business development, talent acquisition, and serves as liaison to some of our key clients.  Her skill at understanding the client need and then matching the right skills and expertise to the project or need is unmatched.  Anitha is a strong leader with proven experience in managing implementations of large and complex SAP projects as well as large and highly technical teams.

Prior to joining Amick Brown, she spent  10 years at AT&T as a Technician and then a Delivery Manager.  She effectively managed an SAP BI portfolio consisting of a multiple production environments, 24 x 7 support requirements and more than 200 medium to large projects each year.  Business functions supported included payroll, performance management, talent management, learning solutions, time, and personnel.  You can see that Anitha’s experience is broad as well as deep.

In 2010, after an outsource of the AT&T SAP program to a large consulting company, Anitha, along with her business partner Karen Gildea started Amick Brown LLC, an IT consulting and staffing company. The two had worked for 10 years together at AT&T and knew that together they could build a solid company and provide top rate services.  Amick Brown, while still a small business, is enjoying steady growth and has been listed on the San Francisco Business Times Top 100 Woman Owned Businesses in the San Francisco Bay Area list since 2013.

Karen is an Amick Brown Co-Founder and Managing Partner. She has long history in IT, serving both in technical and leadership roles.  She spent 26 years supporting various technologies at AT&T.  Karen’s last 10 years there was spent as a Senior Technical Director where she lead a team tasked with building the enterprise SAP BI solution at AT&T—a solution which served the company’s human resources, procurement, legal, network, finance, and real estate organizations and had a diverse end-user population of more than 400,000.

In 2010, after an outsource of the AT&T SAP application to a large consulting company, Karen shifted her focus and with her business partner Anitha Brown, started Amick Brown LLC, an IT consulting and staffing company. The company, while still a small business, is enjoying steady growth and has been listed on the San Francisco Business Times Top 100 Woman Owned Businesses in the San Francisco Bay Area list since 2013.

Karen’s role at Amick Brown focuses on the internal business functions of the company and the teams supporting Human Resources, Accounting, Marketing, Legal and Finance. She is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) and has earned her SHRM certified HR Professional certification (SHRM-CP) which enables her to stay abreast of HR developments and ensures Amick Brown adheres to all Labor laws and regulations.  Karen ensures that business functions are running smoothly and efficiently so Amick Brown’s primary focus can remain on how to best serve both Amick Brown’s client’s and employee’s needs.

Karen lives in Livermore, California with her husband of 37 years.  She has three grown children and one “almost 3” year old grandson whom she adores.  She loves spending time with friends and family and spends as much time as possible at Lake Oroville, California where the family maintains a small houseboat.
